Friends or Aquaintence? Facebook is here to help you decide

FB Friend-Aquant

Friend?  Acquaintance?

The Acquaintance List may solve newsfeed clutter and Facebook is here to help!

Facebook has updated yet another List tool .

Facebook has announced a tool to make it easier for you to add friends to your Acquaintances list. If you add someone to the “Acquaintances” list they will not be unfriended. Don’t worry they will have no way of knowing they have been put on the “list” but you will see fewer of their posts in your news feed. You will start seeing Facebook recommend groups of people that could be added to your Acquaintances list based on your lack of interaction with them.

Friends can be on multiple lists. If you have them on your list of friends from High School and also add them to your acquaintance list what happens?  When you go to your HS list you will find their updates. However in your daily New Feed you will see less content. This is good for that person you hardly know that posts 8 times a day.

Facebook engineer Jonathan Coens wrote in a blog post about the new feature:

If you are reading this and saying I don’t have lists.. UGH!!!!!!!  In September of last year, Facebook launched “Smart Lists,” which automatically created friend lists for you based on information from your profile, work place, schools attended, where you live etc…. You can then from the same location create your own lists.

What do you think of the new feature? Will you use it? I already started.

Creative Video, Think outside the box

Dyson Funny Video, Educate, Make me Laugh Great Video

I had to share this video. It’s funny, it surprising, it keeps you engaged and you would never have thought it was going to be a vacuum cleaner commercial.

Agents are always wondering what kind of content should be in their videos. A) something people will watch. B) keep people engaged C) not necessarily an in your face real estate video.

Dyson Vacuum Funny Video

Dyson Funny Video, Educate, Make me Laugh Great Video

If you give people interesting, informative information, even better if you can make it fun. The good Lord knows we all could use a heavy does of F-U_N. There are 4 key ingredients to almost any communication you have with a customer. Now it’s not likely you will get all 4 in every time. But have that top of mind. (not just for video-that was free)
1. Appreciate me
2. Educate me
3. Make me reflect/think
4. Make me laugh (entertain me)

When you include these ingredients people will be much more likely to not only remember you but want to call on you when they need your services. They will also be more likely to share your content with their friends. What’s your outside the box idea?

Buffini & Peek Producers Coming To Jacksonville

Superman Own Your market

If you are looking for an opportunity to start this year off with a proven plan for success than you really need to take a look at Peek Producers. Wendy Griffis, a solid successful agent, that has used this program will be facilitating it. This is what Wendy has to say about it.

“It is an AMAZING program.  I get nothing by teaching it, except the joy of sharing the way I work, and the system I use to create a steady stream of referrals, and run a business, like a business.  Its one of those, if you teach it, you will learn it/execute it at a deeper level.  Which is where I want to go.

I don’t want to sound “Ra Ra Buffini-ite”, but I think it is information worth sharing, for those interested in listening.  Even as a producing agent, this course also teaches the “business side” of real estate -running your business, like a business, not like a sales person, and finding ways to have the “balance” we all need. Very powerful concepts.”

Student Kit is included when you sign up. The cost is only $395 and $295 for Buffini members. This includes a training kit with marketing materials to your clients, workbook, CD resource library, and more. The class size is limited, to keep it small and intimate, and will be filled on a first come basis.

The class will be on Thursdays from 10-12, beginning on January 26th, at Coldwell Banker Vanguards  Connect U training center on Phillips Highway.  It is 16 weeks total, with skipping March 1 and March 15 due to the Coldwell Banker Gen Blue Conference and my spring break (got to take a break!). This class is Open to any Realtor from any Company! You just need to have a desire for a Rock Solid Referral Based Business! Call Wendy Griffis at 349-3133  today or email her at griffisrealtor@comcast.net .

How’s Facebook Working for You?

New fun Chat insert

So how is Facebook working for you?
Timelines, Friends Lists, Walls, Tags it’s a whole new language. That’s because Facebook is almost as big as the 2nd largest country in the world it needs one. If you think about it, the comprehension of how to navigate it is global and spans every culture and language that participates. That is INSANE!

Now I know some of you are tempted to do this. You can ignore it but it might run you over, or you can get in there with the crowd. You can determine the pace, walk, run or you can choose to master it. I would suggest that if you ignore it you may find one day that you are holding on to your pager waiting for it to go off, so to speak. That doesn’t mean you live on it. It means you learn to understand it place.

Drum Roll………………..  Coming January 2012 for the first time Real Dynamic Agents-Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty will open only 1 workshop per month to any Realtor in JAX and that’s $ocial $erious. Seats will be limited. You will be able to register on http://www.realdynamicagents.com/. Keep your ears to the ground and tell someone you love :)

Now here is a fun freebie just well, I don’t know so you can mess with your teenager and show them you know more than they do.  There is a fun new feature for chat.

You can insert anyone’s picture in a conversation by placing double brackets around their username for Facebook.
Mine is  ie https://www.facebook.com/#!/TeamKnapp

Here’s how:

1. Start your chat

2. When you’d like to refer to a friend or, say, Kim Knapp you put their profile id (either their name or a string of numbers for those users who haven’t claimed their choice URL) into double brackets. So, that would be [[teamknapp]] for a picture of me, [[zuck]] for Mark Zuckerberg and son on.

3. Impress your friends on Facebook chat with this cool new gimmick

In the meantime watch out for www.Realdynamicagents.com and stay connected

New Year!

Peace out and Stay Real!

All Roads lead to Rome

Social Sharing from your Blog

I am sitting here at my computer working on the topic, social networking. I got to a specific slide and I decided to call it “All Roads Lead to Rome”.  You are probably wondering what in the world is she talking about. When you post video or a link, share a Blog or a property that you have where does that information originate from. If someone clicks on it where does it lead?

1.If a friend of theirs decides they like and and reposts it, are you then gone? Or if you originated the content then you go with it and it leads back to you. let me explain.

2.You find an interetsing video on Youtube, you post it and say, “this is a great video you should watch it.” If a friend reposts this link there is no connection to you.

3.You find an interesting video on Youtube,  insert it in your Blog, talk about why you like the video. Go to your Blog site as a consumer would, click on the Blog Title, scroll to the bottom and click on the sharing social icon of choice, share. Now it links bak to you

Social Sharing from your Blog

If you have a listing, suggest to your seller to go to your site, or Realtor.com, your Youtube channel, whichever one works for you and social share their home, let their friends know, “hey my house is for sale”

The point is we work so hard on all of the marketing we do, lets make sure that when we get it out there and spend time riding the social wave,we  don’t waste time or our money. If social networking is what you are in to then as often as you can you want all roads to lead back to YOU.

If this was useful, give me a shout out. Thanks for stopping by Real Dynamic Agents

Get your Social Groove On!

If you are between the ages of 18 and 34 “they” say the first thing you do is check your Facebook. If you are between 35-45 that is probably the second thing you do, over 50 it may not be the first but it very well may be on the morning list. That being said if your business plan involves socially connecting with people will you be there?

I have talked and trained with many agents who say I go in the room called FB, but I don’t feel like I have anything to say. I really don’t think, “I had lunch with Linda” is going to enhance my connections. I agree probably having lunch with Linda is not a big conversation mover. You have to look at Twitter & FB like a Cocktail party with or without adult beverages. How do you start a conversation? How about, “Linda and I had lunch at the Crab Shack for the first time, anyone else ever been there?”  The point is to have a conversation with your social connections not to talk at people.

Posting your status is one side of socially connecting.  There is your engaging with your friends on the other. I have had some people say, “my friend or customer posted a picture of their grandchild and already 20 people said how cute they were. Isn’t it too much for me to pile on and say how cute they are too?” You are at a party someone pulls out a picture of their adorable grandbaby, everyone says “how cute” but you remain silent as not to pile on. Hmmmm… See the logic  Was that a light bulb moment?

People want to engage that is why Facebook is approaching being
equal to the 2nd largest country in the WORLD.

Need help with making sure you post, don’t have time to post, don’t want to login to all these sites check out Hootsuite, Tweetdeck and for content help Socialmadesimple. I am love SocialMadeSimple because they supply content. More on that another day.

This was the intro stay tuned- Follow and subsribe for more info on being socially RAD
Go connect, start a conversation, make friends and REMEMBER ALWAYS BE GENUINE
